It's the lunar Chinese New Year today, and we're going to make hot pot later on today. John asked me what we do in Taiwan to celebrate Chinese New Year... we usually go and see family and friends, eat a bunch, and watch silly television shows. Yes I said it... we don't do much. But this is a time when family gather together to eat big meals and snacks and play cards, which is a good thing.
It's the Year of the Golden Pig and while I was in Japan this past December I took a picture of this little piggy on a wall... in the bowl he's holding it says "Home Dry", and later I realized he was advertising for a dry cleaning store.
Anyhow, happy Chinese New Year everyone!
