polka dot mug

The cup I've been using this past week was this polka dot mug!

It's about 7 oz. in capacity. I use it for Americanos and I especially like to use it when I'm drinking this black sesame drink that I like to make in the mornings (as shown in the photo above.)

And it's such a cute cup!

"guess how much i love you" cup

One of my favorite cups to use these days is from the "Guess How Much I Love You" collection.

"I love you to the moon -- and back."

Aww.

And yes, I've been drinking pretty much everything with it right now.

a cup with a cute lady bug on it

There I was, again, quite "busy" these days to quiet myself down and post something on my blog. But this morning I thought, I must post something today. I must!

And here I am! Today I'm going to post about one of my cup collections... a cute vintage Japanese cup with beautiful black and white flowers, and a lovely lady bug (actually there are two of them) on it. It holds a little less than 8 oz. of liquid, which is perfect for me!

And yes, you know me, I've been drinking almost everything out of it these days.

dayton mug

I found this cute mug at the second-hand store. It had tiny little red vintage airplanes, and a dark gray cloud on it.

Usually there's something inside of these dark clouds on mugs, and with hot liquid inside the mug, the images or sayings would surface. I sort of figured it might have something to do ith the Wright Brothers and airplanes, and was really curious on what exactly was written inside the gray cloud... that was why I must buy the mug.

Ahh. Of course. It says, "Dayton, The Wright Place to Be."

This is my favorite mug this week, and yes I have been drinking all my coffees in it.

Disney 25th anniversary glass

I found this 25th anniversary "Remember the Magic" glass from Disney, and I really like it!

And of course I have to drink all iced drinks in it for now.

whale or blow fish?

I saw this lovely mug at the second-hand store and thought John would love it, so I bought it for him.

whale mug
Is it a whale or a blow fish?

It's made in Japan by Taylor & Ng in 1984. I figured if it was made in Japan chances were that it was a blow fish, but everyone else thought it was a whale.

Whale or blow fish, John loves it! :)

pink heart cup found its mate

I finally found the matching saucer for my pink heart cup!

pink heart cup and saucer
The saucer has a embossed pink heart for the indented pink heart in the bottom of the cup.

I found it at the same second hand store. It might have been there all along but I just didn't see it when I bought the cup.

I also found out that this cup and saucer set was made by Starbucks in 1995 (marked on the bottom of the saucer). Interesting the cup was not marked.

And yay I have a complete cute set of pink heart cup and saucer!

pink heart cup

I'm not a big "cute heart" person... but my favorite cup for daily coffee these days is the pink heart cup I found at the second-hand store.

I love how it's pink on the outside and white on the inside, and I especially love how I always see a beautiful little pink heart when I finish my drink!

little retro mug

I found this little vintage mug at the secondhand store. It has a red "Japan" on the bottom... and I think it was from the 70s. I love the brown retro designs on the cup!

And its 8oz. capacity is perfect for me to have my Americanos or lattes in.

strawberry cup

This is my favorite cup to use at the caffe these days. It's a 1990 Roy Kirkham English "Fruit Garden" collection bone china. There are many strawberries and strawberry leaves and flowers on the cup, its handle, and even on the inner side.

John said, "It looks very English." And I said, "Exactly."

It also reminds me how much I really want to have my own little fruit garden!

silly cups

We use these more eco-friendly cups at the caffe for iced drinks. They are thiner and softer, but can be sealed on the top (so we don't need to use lids).

I love these cups, but once in a while we'll see silly ones liked these:

We can't really use them on customers, but at least we can still seal them up when we make drinks for ourselves.

And at least they are unique and cool looking.

vintage morton salt advertising mug

I found this wonderful little vintage mug the other day, and it has become my favorite mug to use this week. hehe.

I did a quick research, and found that this vintage Morton "When It Rains It Pours" mug was manufactred in Japan in the late 70s, and ended on 1980. The pattern on the cup features the Morton 1914 design. I think there were a couple more other designs as well.

Morton also released a new set of 4 mugs of the designs in 1998... I believe they are more white and bright in color.

The mug is rounded and smooth to the touch. I love it!
