whale or blow fish?

I saw this lovely mug at the second-hand store and thought John would love it, so I bought it for him.


Is it a whale or a blow fish?

It's made in Japan by Taylor & Ng in 1984. I figured if it was made in Japan chances were that it was a blow fish, but everyone else thought it was a whale.
