At the shop we usually make rose teas with white tea leaves, but sometimes it's nice to use roses only. Pure rosiness is nice!

miscellaneous shop stuff

Now that I have completed blogging (partially cheated with mostly photos and only a few words, I know,) about Paris, I am going to blog about small everyday things once again! I thought I'd write about a few little things that John and I have been doing at the shop.


First of all, John's been roasting a lot! Lots of Single Origin coffees and some espressos, and different espresso blends. Delicious coffees "on tap" and also on the siphon. Ahh I love coffee!


Oh, and we changed our coffee packaging to these new bags! John also got a sealer to seal the top of the bags. The zip-lock feature is also awesome.


We've also been blending our own teas. The leaves in this photo are dried mint leaves.

John's coffee education classes are also going well. He made a little video clip a while ago to encourage people to sign up for the classes. The video is simple, but to the point! :) And even though John probably wouldn't think this is the right word to describe his video, but I really think the video is CUTE!

We got some lovely and potent dry roses (ori. Germany) for teas at the caffe. They smell and taste so wonderful!


They look beautiful, too.


And of course I have to find a pretty little vintage English tin for them.

Ahhh. Pretty (and tasty) roses and cute little tins make me happy.

afternoon tea with joanne

My friend Joanne and I went to have some informal afternoon tea at Elizabeth's Bakery. I had never been to the place before and I was really impressed by the quiet, elegant, yet casual place.


We sat at the corner of the shop.


Couple of the walls were decorated with lovely novelty teapots.


Simple tea set. I had the Sakura Blossom tea (not its official name). I later thought of the fact that I should have had some sort of British black tea since we're at a British bakery, but oh well.

I also had the cornish pastry. It was yummy! Joanne and I called it a "big dumpling."

It was fun having fun talks and tea with Joanne. We should totally do this more often.

yummy Thai Green

John and I have been testing and experimenting with different teas to make our bubble milk tea. We found this wonderful Thai green tea and spices that work very well as a milk tea. Yummy.
