[Tokyo Fall 2008] Ueno Park - Kyomizukannondo

We continue walking and enjoying the views at Ueno Park, and then saw a hand-cleaning fountain.

Normally when you see these fountains (temizuya) outside of temples. People who are going into the temple will wash their hands prior to entering the temple.

So I asked John to demonstrate.


I know some people who would also drink from the fountain... I've not yet tried it.

We then saw a few beautiful wood buildings, and signs that said these were built in the late 1600s.

Kyomizukannodo.


We finally found out we were at Kyomizukannodo temple... we just entered from its exit.
